Big Night

Last night was a big night. It was the last home football game. Sadie got to cheer in the second quarter since she had participated in the high school cheerleader's mini-cheer camp last spring. Here are some pictures of them practicing before the game--they love "The Cupid Shuffle."

At halftime, they announced the winners of Punt, Pass and Kick. T.S. placed second in the Kindergarten division.

We were very proud of both kids last night.

Punt, Pass, and Kick

Sadie and T.S. participated in our school's punt, pass and kick contest Thursday. Both of them did very well. I think Sadie impressed a few of the boys in her class. I missed getting pictures of her punting, it is hard to watch two age groups at once.

Every kid received a medal; T.S. wanted to wear his to school the next day. They'll announce the winners at halftime of the home football game October 30.

T.S. really is still here. He loves school and is working very hard on letters and their sounds. He told us today that he really didn't need to know them, "because I can do math, two equals two."

The Fiddler

Sadie started fiddle lessons this week. A man from Tulia is coming to Happy on Mondays--which is very convenient. Sadie has been asking to learn the fiddle for over a year now. She is very excited. She can now play the first measure of "Faded Love," which I know would make my dad very proud. It is a challenging instrument, but Sadie is determined to learn it.

Happy, Texas Barbecue Challange

Today, Robby and his FFA students used their bus cooker to participate in the first Happy, Texas Barbecue Challenge. They placed 6th in pork spare ribs and 1st in brisket. Sadie helped hand out the awards as part of her Miss Happy duties. Of course, I didn't have my camera. It was a fun day--everyone at our house is worn out.

Robby and Sadie are attending a pig sale tomorrow. Sadie has a new barrow, he arrived Friday, so no pictures yet.
