Science project

Sadie finished her science project--they were to build a model of something that couldn't fit into the classroom.  She chose a hot air balloon.  The paper-mache portion took longer than expected, but she finally finished it, and we thought it turned out quite well.  (I think the passenger is a great finishing touch!)

Football and the Fair

T.S. had his first flag football game Saturday--he said it was fun.  He does a great job "blocking."  I use the term roughly since no contact is supposedly allowed when you block.  We then spent the day at the Tri-State Fair in Amarillo.  Sadie had a fantastic day.   She showed four lambs and placed in the top 8 with all of them.  Our friends--Alisa, Gracie, Luke and Jake--all had a great day as well.  It was fun to be with our Happy Show Crew.
T.S. is number 5.

Joe placed 1st in his class.

Lucy was 2nd. (She--Lucy, not Sadie--also peed on my foot.)

First Day

Second Grade

Trying to get away--notice the spiked hair.  I think he wanted to cover up the spots where chunks of hair were mysteriously cut.

Sixth Grade--I'm wondering if Sadie will be taller than the pencil at the end of school.

Highlight of Sadie's day--her own locker in P.E.

Sledding in Summer

We had the opportunity to visit White Sands while in New Mexico--it was super hot, but really cool.  Especially since we got to sled in summer with our cousins.

Happy Birthday Sadie!

Sadie turns 11 today.  It's hard to believe that she has grown into a beautiful young lady in the blink of an eye.
11 things about Sadie:

1.  She can go from tom-boy to princess in the blink of an eye--how many girls do you know that want feathers for their hair and a pellet gun?
2.  She is talented--she can play the fiddle and enjoys dancing and cheering.
3.  She's a hard worker.
4.  She has fun with her brother--even though she sometimes thinks he's a pest.
5.  She's a daddy's girl--she can eat a whole rack of her daddy's famous ribs.
6.  She loves to share a good pedicure with her mama.
7.  She's always up for an adventure.
8.  She's smart and witty.
9.  She enjoys playing golf. (especially with her daddy)
10.  She loves spending time with her family and friends--older and younger.
11.  She loves animals--especially her lambs, dogs and chickens.

First Junior PGA Tournament

The kids played in their first Junior PGA Tournament today in Perryton.  It was very windy.  In their current age divisions, they play nine holes and are allowed to have a caddie.  Because Sadie is about to move up into the division that doesn't allow caddies, Robby caddied for her, and I for T.S.  T.S. definitely has a set way to go about things.  He made it clear that my job was to hand the club and put it back in the proper place.
They each received gold medals in their divisions.  It was a fun day for all of us.  We especially enjoyed visiting our cousins in Gruver the night before.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, T.S.!!

T.S. celebrates his 7th birthday today.  Here's a picture with his birthday crown on and our new puppy, Elsie.  We picked her up today--Sadie wants to be clear that it is OUR dog and we just happened to pick her up on T.S.'s birthday.

Seven things about T.S.:
1.  He is adventurous--ask him about being a "good blind driver".
2.  He is kind-hearted.
3.  He makes all of us laugh--a lot.
4.  He loves to play golf with his daddy.  He can hardly wait for Robby to be his caddy this summer.
5.  He'll still hug his mama.
6.  He even likes his sister, although he'd never admit it.
7.  He makes great sound effects with his vehicles--especially in church.

Houston 2011

Sadie and Nugget

Craig feels Nugget to decide what to feed.

The Coach and the team watch Alisa in the ring.

We had another fun stockshow experience--somehow I didn't do a very good job of documenting it.  Sadie and Nugget didn't do too well, but we were pleased that our cousin Sandy and her neighbor came down to watch.  We enjoyed dinner at Sandy and Jan's that evening--it certainly was a treat after a few days of food on a stick.

We enjoyed a relaxing time at Jennifer's.  The cousins, certainly do have fun together.  We made time in our trip for a few brief stops through Abbott.  Sissy and Albert should think of opening a bed and breakfast.  We were also thrilled to get to travel to Morgan Mill to see Randy and his family.  Once again, the cousins had a ball and we were thrilled to get to see the new Bow home and love on Evan, Meda and Mabry.

Sorry for the lack of pictures after the stockshow--I left the camera in Craig's pickup and no one thought it was worth it to drive back into Houston for it.

Houston Bound

Quick post--no pictures.

Just wanted to let those of you who follow this blog and aren't on facebook know that Robby's Tractor Technician team placed 7th at the state contest at the Houston Livestock Show yesterday.  We are so proud of the boys and their hard work.  They've put in a lot of hours prepping for the contest.

The kids and I are packed and ready to head out today--Sadie will show Nugget on Thursday at Houston.  Hopefully we will have good news to report.
