Happy Birthday, T.S.!

T.S. is six today. We celebrated with GeGe last night. he plans to take a friend on an adventure sometime this summer when things slow down.
Six things about T.S.:
1. He is funny--he makes us laugh a lot. (Thankfully his Kindergarten teacher thinks he is funny, too.)
2. He is inquisitive.
3. He is starting to come out of his shell, but is still a little bashful.
4. He is artistic, has a great imagination, and is always up for an adventure.
5. He is finally a little interested in learning to read.
6. He is a math whiz.

Mudfest 2010

We had a lot of rain recently. Last week, the kids had a great time in the mud.
Thankfully, Robby is finally home. He took pity on me and swept and mopped the laundry room. That means my thought of growing a garden in there will be put on hold (which is a good thing).

Undefeated!!

Sadie played Little Dribblers basketball again this year. Her team--the 3rd and 4th grade--Happy Black was undefeated in the regular season and in the tournament. Everyone on the team improved so much throughout the season.

Thanks Joli and Jimmy for an outstanding job of coaching!

Easter

We dyed eggs at mom's on Saturday--it looked like the Incredible Hulk might appear; thankfully whitening toothpaste got T.S.'s hands clean. On Sunday we went to mom's for lunch after church. The kids hunted eggs and we visited Nonnie.

I tried to take pictures of the kids in the wheat field on the way to church--unfortunately I had the camera on the wrong setting. We are going to try again if it ever dries up. The wheat is tall and green and looks very promising.

Skate Time

Our school participates in a program called, "Skate Time." The kids pay a small fee, and a company brings all of the equipment needed to skate. They skate for two weeks. I didn't get pictures of Sadie this year, but I did skate with them. T.S. was quite a skater. He worked very hard to put all of his gear on by himself and even helped a few of his classmates.

Easter with the Cousins

The Tirey cousins got together the week before Easter for our annual egg-dyeing extravaganza. Special thanks to Sarah, Preston and Robby for their dye mixing expertise.

Spring Break

Finally, I'm finding (making) time to blog. Here are the very delayed pictures of spring break. We traveled to my sister's in Magnolia. We had a ball swinging, playing, crafting, playing the Wii, and having pizza delivered. (My kids were fascinated with the pizza delivery, seeing as we never get it delivered around here--not because I'm mean like that, just because, well, no one delivers to us here.)

The pictures are in no particular order. Cody and the kids did a bit of gardening and found a frog. Jake finally let it go. We roasted marshmallows and had s'mores two nights. Jennifer and I even put up a tent ALL BY OURSELVES--and the girls slept in it one night. It served as a fun play place the rest of the week. (We didn't make Sadie mow; she chose to.)

A good time was had by all.
